When the basis of a project is its passion, it is unlikely to go unnoticed. Behind this project there is a hungry man, a hunger to do something new, a hunger to reinvent the canning world and change the world’s perception of eating from tins. This is how Abel Alvarez, from his restaurant Gueyumar in Playa de Vega, hit upon the idea of playing with fire. Only the finest of seafoods are chargrilled and then canned in the most heavenly olive oils. A painstaking process, searching for the finest marine treasures before they meet with aromas of birch wood, beech, oak and eucalyptus. From the grill to the can, an entirely homemade gourmet experience comes into being. Loved by some of the greatest foodies in the world!

Gueyumar Charcoal Grilled Squid in its ink
Squid seared on a charcoal grill and then cooked in a sauce made of onions, peppers, fish stock and squid´s own ink. Heat on the microwave for a couple of minutes and serve. Excellent with rice or pasta.
Gueyumar Charcoal Grilled Wild Red Tuna Morrillo
This part of the tuna is similar to the belly (ventresca) for its content in fat, but firmer in texture. This incredible product from Gueyumar has been charcoal grilled and then tinned with EVOO and a pinch of salt. Just open the tin and enjoy the amazing flavour!
